Sinopec stepped up development of synthetic oil technology

The development of Sinopec synthetic oil complete technology has taken an important step. On August 8th, the project of hydrogenation and upgrading of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis products to produce lubricating oil and wax through the technical review of Sinopec Organization, clarified the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis wax hydrotreating and biological pilot coal pilot program. According to the project plan, the pilot-scale technology industrial application device will be completed and put into operation in Henan Oilfield Refined Wax Factory in the first quarter of next year.

Hydrogenation and upgrading technology is an important part of the complete set of synthetic oil technology. At the beginning of this year, Sinopec Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology completed a laboratory pilot study of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis products. In mid-July, Sinopec signed a technology development entrustment contract with the subordinate Shikeyuan, Henan Oilfield Branch Fine Wax Factory and Engineering Construction Company, and invested 14 million yuan in Fischer-Tropsch synthetic oil hydrotreating pilot-scale technology industrial application. In the experimental study, 12 million yuan was used for the transformation of the wax hydrogenation unit of the refined wax plant in Henan Oilfield. The equipment renovation is expected to be completed by the end of the year and will be put into operation in the first quarter of next year.

It is understood that Fischer-Tropsch synthetic oil upgrading base oil technology is still a blank in China. After the successful development and application of this technology, Sinopec will form a complete set of synthetic oil technology with independent intellectual property rights to enhance its competitiveness and influence in the field of alternative energy.

In the research process of the project, the Institute of Stone Science and Technology developed two kinds of Fischer-Tropsch wax processing and upgrading to produce lubricating base oil and special wax technology for the structural characteristics and product requirements of fixed bed and slurry bed Fischer-Tropsch wax. . They achieve the oil wax combination by optimizing the reaction depth of the catalyst and the suitable hydrotreating section.

According to reports, Fischer-Tropsch synthetic oil refers to synthetic oils similar to petroleum-based fuels produced by the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process. Sinopec is currently stepping up the development of complete sets of natural gas synthetic oil (GTL)/coal synthetic oil (CTL) technology. Natural gas synthetic oil and coal synthetic oil products can be modified by different process routes to obtain naphtha, diesel, lubricating base oil, special wax, etc., of which diesel and lubricating base oil will be the main products. The GTL/CTL synthetic oil can be produced by hydro-upgrading to produce API III or higher quality base oil. These base oils have high viscosity index, good oxidation stability and low evaporation loss. They are excellent raw materials for blending high-grade lubricants. Meet the lubrication needs of increasingly stringent automotive engines.
