India fears that solar energy industry is "dominated" by China

The report said that the Indian government plans to develop India into one of the countries with the highest solar power generation in the world. According to a report published by KPMG, India's solar energy industry is expected to attract 110 billion U.S. dollars in investment by 2022, create 1 million direct jobs, and reduce India’s coal import consumption by 5.5 billion U.S. dollars. Solar power generation will meet 7% of India's electricity demand.

Indian industry insiders believe that solar equipment manufacturers from China are quickly seizing the Indian market. At present, solar energy equipment manufacturers in India do not enjoy import tariff protection and the import tax is zero. According to Indian statistics, Chinese equipment manufacturers have occupied 65% of the global solar power equipment market. In view of the above situation, Indian solar equipment manufacturers intend to form a coalition to deal with Chinese manufacturers.
