Based on this, they have developed a technology that incorporates high concentrations of impurities in diamonds and uses the mechanism of hopping conductance to significantly reduce the resistance of the diamond. Using this low-resistance diamond, researchers finally developed bipolar transistors that are necessary for high-performance semiconductor devices. The bipolar transistor has a current amplification function and is used as an efficient current control element and has been widely used in broadcast television, telecommunications, computers, automatic control, and home appliances industries.
