Industry Standards: Publication of "The Name of China's Major Wood Distribution Products"

The "China's major wood circulation commodity name" industry standards prepared by the China Timber Distribution Association and the Shanghai Timber Industry Association have been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, issued and announced (No. 28 of 2008) and will be published soon. The standard is scientific, normative, practical, and can be used for timber trade, processing, quality supervision, scientific research and teaching, and also provides technical basis for customs, quality inspection, industry and commerce, and other law enforcement work.

It is understood that the "China's major timber circulation commodity name" industry standard collects 416 major tree species in China, which currently circulate in the current Chinese market, adding new tree species emerging from the market in recent years. In accordance with the principle of scientificity, practicality, and integration, 340 classes (individuals) are classified according to the tree classification and genera systems. The standard is based on the actual conditions of China's Main Timber Names, China's Main Imported Timber Names and Redwood National Standards, Common Practices for Commonly Used Commodity Names for Timber Trade, and the actual conditions of inspection, customs declaration, taxation, and circulation in the timber market in China. It regulates the names of major timber circulation products in China. The standard content includes: imported coniferous material, imported broad-leaved tree material and domestic coniferous tree material, domestic broad-leaved tree material 4 parts and tree species Chinese name index, tree species Latin name index, circulation commodity name index, and main reference documents 4 inspiring appendices. The names of the wood circulation products in the standard are arranged in alphabetical order according to their family, genera, and species Latin names, not only the name of the wood, the Chinese name and Latin name of the tree species, the name of the commodity, and the name of the commodity in circulation, but also the division of wood, Material color and density and origin.
