My scientist is developing a bio-solar battery

Chinese Academy of Sciences Yu Tingyun today revealed at the "2012 First China-Hainan Green Development Forum" that Chinese scientists are developing biological solar cells. “How to make efficient use of solar energy is a commanding height in the international academic community. Scientists in developed countries such as the United States and the European Union are working hard to see who can make the first breakthrough.” This forum is organized by China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, China. Yan Tingyun said that the conversion and utilization of solar energy for leaves has reached almost 100%. How to artificially simulate the photosynthesis process and capture and use solar energy has become the focus and focus of scientists' research. According to the forecast of the European Union Research Center, "solar fuel" will gradually replace traditional fossil fuels - by 2020, "solar fuel" will account for 1% of the energy structure, by 2450 by 2450, and by 2100 it will reach 64%. "The use of solar energy has broad prospects, but the key to the problem is how to effectively use solar energy." Yan Tingyun said. The development of solar cells has gone through several stages such as crystalline silicon cells and thin-film batteries. The problem of crystalline silicon cells is high cost and pollution. The problem of thin-film cells is low conversion rate.

Yu Tingyun said: “We are conducting related research and hope to build solar cells for biological/organic hybrid materials, which will greatly increase the photoelectric conversion rate through solar energy captured by photosynthesis membrane proteins.” (Reporter Qi Fang)
