Kemira sells hydrogen peroxide plant in Canada

Finland’s Kemira recently signed a contract to sell its hydrogen peroxide plant in Maitland, Ontario, Canada to Evonik Industries. The transaction is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. The financial status of the transaction has not been disclosed.

The plant's hydrogen peroxide production capacity of 44,000 tons/year is the only production facility for Kemira in North America. With the exception of the Maitland facility, the total capacity of Kemira hydrogen peroxide is approximately 150,000 tons/year, and production facilities are located in Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Uruguay.
