Due to the flexible operation mechanism, the sudden emergence of different forces and rapid development, the expansion of refractory production has been promoted. After joining the WTO, some enterprises have promoted the structural adjustment of the refractory industry and industrial upgrading through strengthening management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic integration, which has made a qualitative leap in the technical research and development and variety structure of refractory materials.

Mainly manifested in:

(1) Refractory raw materials. Key enterprises and research institutes cooperated to adopt different technical routes such as purification and homogenization, upgraded the grade of natural refractory raw materials, developed a batch of synthetic new raw materials, and laid a solid foundation for the research and development of refractory products.

For high-efficiency continuous casting, new products such as medium-packaged venting nozzles, carbon-free and silicon-free nozzles for clean steel, integral composite plugs, aluminum-zirconium carbon immersion nozzles, long-life non-baked thin-walled long nozzles and nitride-bound skateboards, The new materials ensure the safety of the continuous casting process. In terms of unshaped refractory materials, high-performance castables have doubled the service life of ladle, mixed iron furnace and other working linings, and the application of large-scale prefabricated parts is increasing, such as in electric furnace tops, heating furnace tops, etc. Casting prefabricated parts; on the other hand, the unfinished refractory wet spraying complete set technology has been widely used in the maintenance and repair process of large and small blast furnaces at home and abroad, and extended to converter injection repair, ladle injection repair, heating furnace spray Injection furnaces, etc., make the construction of unshaped refractory materials more convenient and quick.

(3) Refractory equipment. Especially since the beginning of the 21st century, with the rapid development of the refractory industry, the equipment level of refractory manufacturers, especially key enterprises, is constantly upgrading. Advanced CNC electric screw presses, automatic hydraulic presses and robots, such as advanced molding and mixing, thermal equipment, are also widely recognized and widely used in various refractory production enterprises, enabling efficient manufacturing and green manufacturing. Continuous improvement, laid the foundation for the fine refractory materials.

The refractory industry has achieved remarkable results in recent years, but there are still issues worth considering:

First, compared with domestic iron and steel enterprises, there are many refractory enterprises, competing with each other, and the profits are very thin. The investment in technological transformation and research and development is insufficient. In addition, the refractory resources are gradually reduced, and environmental protection has restricted mining, which has affected the refractory industry. Sustainable and healthy development, if this continues, may affect the development of high-temperature industries to a certain extent.

Second, as a whole, the process equipment of refractory materials is still relatively backward compared with the equipment of advanced foreign companies. There is still a big gap between them and advanced countries. The equipment level of some small enterprises is even worse, which affects the stable level of product quality. .

Third, the amount of foreign debts is high. The total amount of external debts of most refractory companies has reached 50-80% of their annual sales income. The shortage of funds is very difficult in daily operations, and the ability to guarantee supply faces a greater test.

Fourth, due to the variety of refractory materials and complex requirements, the local government can not select enterprises with scale and output indicators alone. There are low production concentration of refractory enterprises, many small scattered conditions, vicious competition, low profit, no capital investment transformation, The equipment is relatively backward. Under the current situation of increasing environmental protection standards, the risk of survival is intensifying. The refractory enterprises will have market risks for the stable supply of high-temperature industries such as steel. The price of refractory raw materials and products for more than a year. Climbing is the concentrated expression of this problem. It should cause concern for high-temperature industries such as steel.
