Poor insulation of three-phase asynchronous motor? Dalan Motor summarized these 6 reasons

There are various reasons for poor insulation of three-phase asynchronous motors. For example, it must be inspected and repaired to a certain extent, otherwise a short circuit may occur or even cause a fire. Therefore, when the insulation is poor, it should be dealt with in time. The editor of Dalan Motor introduces you to six reasons for poor insulation.

(1) Due to the humid environment, water droplets fall into the motor, or the cold air in the outdoor ventilation channel invades the motor, which makes the insulation damp and reduces the insulation resistance.

(2) The motor is overloaded for a long time, the heat is large, the heat dissipation is poor, and the insulation is aging.

(3) Dust accumulates on the winding, or the bearing has serious oil leakage, and the oil stain on the winding contaminates the dust, causing the insulation resistance to decrease.

(4) Carbonization or breakdown of wiring board.

(5) The conductive powder abraded by the slip ring or brush falls into the inside of the winding, causing the rotor insulation resistance to decrease.

(6) The insulation is mechanically damaged or chemically corroded, causing the winding to be grounded.

Motors with poor insulation should be cleaned first, and then check whether the insulation is damaged. If there is no damage, dry it. Test the insulation voltage after drying, if it is still low, then use the test method to find the fault point for maintenance.
