Three Cogenra Solar Modules Using Photovoltaic Cell Interconnect Technology

On October 16, 2014, Cogenra Solar, a provider of high-performance photovoltaic technology in the United States, announced three photovoltaic modules using dense cell interconnect (DCI) technology and stated that the conversion efficiencies have been updated worldwide.

Cogenra emphasized that after a series of experimental verifications in a third-party laboratory, compared to the traditional components in the current market, the efficiency of the components using Cogenra's DCI technology has increased by 15 percentage points. This significant increase in efficiency has reduced the direct cost-per-watt of components and total solar installation costs.

DNV GL and TUEV SUED Certification

Cogenra claims that the three components whose efficiency has set a world record are all made up of unsorted solar cells using Cogenra DCI manufacturing technology, and both have passed the DNV GL Group (Note 1) and TUEV SUED certification. It has been confirmed that the peak power outputs of the 60-cell components using N-type front-contact monocrystalline silicon cells, P-type monocrystalline silicon cells, and polycrystalline silicon cells are 334 W, 301 W, and 288 W, respectively.

Breaking through the boundaries of PV design and technology

“The efficiency of innovative products from Cogenra is impressive, breaking the boundaries of photovoltaic design and technology.” John Watts, DNL GV R&D Engineer, exclaimed.

Major breakthroughs in photovoltaic technology

“It is time to “reorganize” PV modules.” Dr. Gilad Almogy, founder and CEO of Cogenra Solar, claimed that “DCI technology has significantly improved the performance, reliability, and cost of components. This type of necessary component innovation technology It represents a major breakthrough in the field of solar energy technology and is expected to accelerate the development of the global solar energy industry."

The original solar module technology mainly relied on ribbons technology to block the sun's rays, cause resistive losses, and accelerate the degradation of photovoltaic modules. Cogenra's patent-pending DCI technology can more effectively connect batteries to components. There is no need for ribbons, solder joints, or inter-cell gaps. Therefore, components using DCI technology have many advantages, such as higher power generation, excellent reliability, and lower cost.

Currently, Cogenra is expanding its US component production line and plans to start sampling and mass production of DCI components in the third quarter of 2015. In addition, the company's proven DCI technology has been used in a 1 MW solar array at the University of Arizona.

Note 1: On December 20, 2012, the Norwegian Classification Society (DNV) and the German Lloyd's Register (GL) formally signed a merger agreement, and the merged new organization was named DNV GL Group. This merger means that the new institution will become one of the world's leading classification societies, as well as risk management experts in the oil and gas, renewable energy, and power industries, and will be among the world's three largest certification bodies for management systems. DNV GL Group will have four business units, namely maritime, oil and gas, energy and management services. (Translator: Krystal Bian)

Pneumatic Valve

Pneumatic valve is a kind of valve controlled by air pressure, which is widely used in industrial automation control system. Its main applications include the following aspects:

1. Fluid control: pneumatic valve can be used to control the flow and direction of liquid or gas, such as controlling the flow in the pipeline, exhaust gas emission, etc.

2. Pressure control: pneumatic valve can be used to control the pressure of fluid, such as controlling the pressure of compressed air, regulating the pressure in the hydraulic system, etc.

3. Temperature control: pneumatic valve can be used to control the temperature of fluid, such as the temperature of heating or cooling system.

4. Automatic control: pneumatic valve can be linked with sensors, PLC and other equipment to realize automatic control, such as automatic production lines, robots, etc.

5. Safety control: pneumatic valve can be used for safety control, such as controlling emergency stop, preventing overload, etc.

In general, pneumatic valve plays an important role in industrial automation control system, which can improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety.
