Japanese scientists develop ultra-low-power flat panel light source with only 0.1W

Since Edison invented the light bulb, the night life of human beings has become very colorful. From now on, people have put forward higher requirements for light sources, and lighting also needs to consider factors such as environmental protection, energy saving and service life. Scientists at Tohoku University in Japan have successfully developed ultra-low power flat panel light sources, which are brighter, cheaper, and greener than the widely used LED light sources on the market.

The device uses highly conductive carbon nanotube arrays to provide efficient, evenly distributed illumination, and to reduce power consumption to 0.1 Watts, which is 100 times less power than light-emitting diodes. The source of LED light is known for its high efficiency, but this can only be the surrounding environment, which means there is still much room for improvement. The new light source advocated by Prof. Norihiro Shimoi is based on the structure of carbon nanotubes. Each tube is cylindrical, and tiny cathode rays eject a high-speed electron beam, which greatly improves efficiency.
