Non-coal mines in Shandong Province will be closed 1480 by the end of next year

The four departments of the provincial safety supervision department and other departments have formulated plans on a few days ago and will select 20 key counties (cities, districts) for key supervision and promotion on the basis of the two key counties identified by the State as the key to the difficulties. Relevant opinions require that before the end of next year, the goal of closing 1480 non-coal mines in the province issued by the Office of the State Council's safety committee shall be completed.

In order to implement this major deployment of the provincial government, the Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Finance, and the Provincial Department of Land and Resources specially formulated and issued the “Opinions on Further Strengthening the Safety Production of Non-Coal Mines” (Luan Jianfa [2013] No. 86), “Provisions on Safe Production Conditions for Non-metal Underground Metal Mines in Shandong Province (Interim)” (Luan Jianfa [2014] No. 17), to comprehensively learn and promote the advanced experience of coal mine safety production. By the end of next year, mines that have not reached the scale required by the document will be closed. The total amount of non-coal mines will decline by more than 30% on the basis of 2011; the 19 types of equipment and processes that the country has banned from use will be completely eliminated; all underground non-coal mines will achieve National and provincial safety production conditions, secondary mines above the middle-scale and above-average mines have achieved secondary standardization; severe heavy accidents have been eliminated, major accidents have been curbed, general accidents have been reduced, and the safe production situation of non-coal mines in the province has been steadily improved.
