Planing of regular hexahedron parts (figure)

Regular hexahedral parts require parallel faces and require adjacent faces to be at right angles. These parts can be milled or planed. The planing process shown in Figure 1 is generally used for planing hexahedrons.

Processing program:

The first step is generally to first plan out the large face 1 as the fine base (Fig. 2a).

Figure 2 Processing procedure to ensure the verticality of 4 faces

In the second step, the processed large face 1 is used as a reference surface to the fixed jaw. After the middle of the movable jaw and the workpiece, a round bar is clamped and then the adjacent face 2 is machined (Fig. 2b). The perpendicularity of face 1 to face 1 depends on the perpendicularity of the fixed jaw and the horizontal pass. A round bar is placed between the movable jaw and the workpiece in order to concentrate the clamping force in the middle of the jaw so that the face 1 and the fixed jaw are securely attached.

In the third step, the processed surface 2 is turned downward, and the base surface 1 is also pressed against the fixed jaw as described above. When clamping, the workpiece can be machined by gently tapping the workpiece with a hammer to make the surface 2 close to the flat jaws (Fig. 2c).

The fourth step is to machine the surface 3, as shown in Figure 2d. Place face 1 on the parallel horn and the workpiece is clamped directly between the two jaws. When clamping, it is required to gently tap with a hammer to make the surface 1 and the horn stick.

Measures to ensure the accuracy of hexahedron cutting:

(1) Check the accuracy of the pliers themselves (Fig. 3) and install them on the workbench properly.

Figure 3 flat jaw precision check

(2) When the processing requirements are high, the coarse and fine planing should be separated. First plan the four sides, leaving a finishing planer of about 0.5mm on each side. Use a planer when finishing.

(3) Correctly select the machining reference to make the flat plane with the flat and large blank surface as the rough reference, such as the plane 1 in (Fig. 2a), and the subsequent processing uses the plane as the reference for clamping and measurement.

(4) The plane 1 that has been processed is placed close to the fixed jaw, and the rod is clamped between the movable and the workpiece, and the adjacent plane 2 is planed (Fig. 2b).

(5) Adhere the machined plane 2 of the workpiece to the bottom surface of the jaws, and press the reference surface 1 against the fixed jaws according to the same clamping method as above, and plan the plane 4 (Fig. 2c).

(6) As shown in (Fig. 2d), clamp the workpiece and plan the plane 3 .

(7) Planing of the other two faces of the hexahedron is also carried out by clamping the fixed jaws with the plane 1 and clamping them in the same way.
