According to the author's interview, the European and American markets have been almost unprofitable since the outbreak of the European debt crisis. The market share has dropped from 30% to around 15%, while emerging markets have risen from the past 20% to 50%. Southeast Asia and South America are the main markets, and the European market will temporarily slow down. Although some countries have increased tariffs on Chinese imported ceramic tiles by 20%, companies still focus on developing Southeast Asian and South American markets.

China's ceramic exports account for about 60% of global ceramic exports. Europe and the United States have long been one of China's three major exporters of ceramics. Since the EU imposed a high tariff of 69% on China last year, the RMB exchange rate has risen and raw material costs have increased, plus domestic The implementation of strict real estate control policies, export to domestic sales is also difficult, so that many domestic ceramic foreign trade enterprises are almost facing the danger of bankruptcy.

According to relevant data from the global market e-commerce platform, the average purchase volume of Brazil, India, Russia and South Africa increased by 136% in 2011, with India and Brazil increasing by 162% and 151% respectively.

Yin Hong, secretary-general of the Foshan Ceramics Association, pointed out that Russia, Africa and South America are the markets to be seized in the future. However, due to the low added value of domestic ceramic export commodities, the problem of emerging markets grabbing the market with low-price competition does exist.
